Click here for an interesting radio piece one of my friends sent me on women’s speech patterns:
Americans aren’t the only ones convinced women speak differently | Public Radio International.
This clip scratches the surface in looking at how women speech and the words we choose and how they affect perceptions. I appreciate the cross cultural perspectives that are discussed.
I will definitely be more cognizant of women’s speech patterns as well as my own. This reminds me of my Dad constantly scolding me when I would say “like” “um”. Not sure my take on it but I will listen to myself and get a better grasp of the effect that my speech pattern, and the patterns of others, and the impact that it has on their credibility.
